I've got a rescued SparcStation 10 and spent a couple of hours today getting it running. I had a little trouble because I don't think the CG6 framebuffer is working, but I didn't figure that out for a while. I just got no video, but it looked like things were happening when I powered it up.
So eventually I plugged a VT-320 into it and got a serial console.
The machine was booting Solaris 10, and since I didn't have a password and didn't want to poke around in someone else's information, I repartitioned the first drive and installed SunOS 4.1.4.
This machine is pretty nice. It's got:
- Four Ross HyperSparc 100MHz processors
- 4x64MB DSIMMs. I may have some more sitting around.
- Two 2.1GB SCA drives.
- 10baseT and 100baseT ethernet.
It's up on my local (private) network and will get more attention tomorrow. It's no beauty queen, but it seems to run fine.
